Working Within Our Distribution Network

All activities within the vicinity of our distribution network requires appropriate notification to Gas Malaysia Distribution Sdn Bhd. We request all contractors to obtain the relevant information regarding our facilities and submit their work plans before commencing any activities.

Obtaining information on the location of our pipelines

To obtain information on the exact location of our pipelines, it is advisable that you submit a request for information at any of our offices within Peninsular Malaysia (at least four working days in advance). All written requests should detail the work plan and exact location of work.

Obtaining a work permit

In the event that a pipeline is located within the vicinity of the intended area of work, you would be required to apply for a work permit.

When to commence work

Under the Gas Supply Act 1993, work can only commence once the contractors have obtained an official approval from Gas Malaysia Distribution Sdn Bhd.

In the event that a pipeline is located within the vicinity of the intended area of work, the contactor would be required to apply for a work permit. However, if there are no pipelines within the vicinity, Gas Malaysia Distribution Sdn Bhd shall reply to the requesting party accordingly, permitting the commencement of work immediately.

Gas Malaysia Distribution Sdn Bhd will send a representative to be present on-site during the commencement of work by the contractor.

Ensure safe working environment

Please ensure the following safety measures are strictly observed when carrying out activities within the vicinity of our pipelines:

  • Do not allow any heavy machinery to bypass on or near the underground pipeline route.
  • Do not litter near the gas pipeline facilities.
  • Do not perform any kind of open burning near the gas pipeline facilities.
